Saint Mykolay in hospitable Zakarpattia! |
|
15.11.2010 On December, 18 — 19 Reikartz Polyana and Reikartz Carpaty invite everyone to take part in celebrations devoted to one of the merriest Orthodox holidays — the Day of Saint Nicholas, or Saint Mykolay, as they call him in Ukraine!
This is a special, most loved event both for kids and for adults, as it is exactly the day which starts the long awaited season of winter celebrations! Many streets are decorated with bright and colorful fairy lights, while city squares house wonderful Christmas trees, filling everyone with the magic of the coming New Year and Christmas. Street fairs offer delicious treats, while scenes from the Bible are revived and staged here and there, and traditional Carpathian carols capture the hearts...
Saint Mykolay Day for kids is something special indeed — it is the New Year and Christmas at the same time, while Mykolay, being the patron and protector of all children, usually leaves presents at night in the boots, which kids prudently put for him beforehand.
We could hardly miss the opportunity to join and observe charming old traditions and have prepared for our guests a Very Special Offer! Reikartz Polyana and Reikartz Carpaty are glad to invite you to an exciting tour around the ancient Carpathian castles, dinner at an authentic Ukrainian restaurant (kolyba — national Carpathian restaurant) and a great kids fest on the 18th of December with games, competitions and presents from Saint Mykolay himself!
