28.06.2011 This year the State Flight Academy of Ukraine celebrates the 60th anniversary. Today it is the only state educational institution providing professional training for the civil aviation of Ukraine, as well as many other countries. In honor of the anniversary the city is preparing to open the outdoor Aviation Museum and the Alley of Glory called "Kirovograd of Aviation". Reikartz Kirovograd is honored and happy to join the city preparations for the celebration. The hotel offers an exposition devoted to the history of aeronautics from the very origin. We all know the legendary drawings of exotic flying machines invented by Leonardo da Vinci. But have you ever heard of the first actually documented case of man-controlled flight that occurred in Muslim Spain back in the IX century AD? Judging from the chronicles, the inventor managed to keep the machine that reminded a modern hang glider in the air for about 10 minutes. The first floor of the hotel represents the first dreams of mankind about flying: in this section you will see Leonardo Da Vinci's drawings and sketches, read about the first attempts to rise into the sky in hot air balloons and majestic airships later on in the XIX century. The second floor is devoted to the first heavier-than-air flying machines: gliders, monoplanes, first airplanes, and, of course, to those people, whose talent and tenacity made our dream to conquer the skies come true. The third floor highlights the history of aviation during World War I, as well as the Golden Age of aviation in 1918 -1939. The fourth floor exposition tells us about the aviation of World War II. Particular attention is paid to the well-known airplane models designed by the three Superpowers of the time: the USSR, the USA and Germany. The last, fifth floor of the hotel is dedicated to the modern aeronautics. Up here you will learn about first supersonic aircraft of the Cold War period, intercontinental bombers, pilotless robot planes and modern commercial aviation. We welcome you to Reikartz Kirovograd, and sincerely hope that the exposition will be full of interesting facts and discoveries for you! |
